Senior Horticultural Nutrition Advisor

The successful appointee will have access to start-up resources and some ongoing support and will be encouraged to apply for his/her own skills, knowledge and experience. This position is fully responsible for leading the work on nutrition across all project components; and to identify the determinants of dietary diversity and the nutrition gap in rural households: Availability of foods (either homegrown or from markets)affordability of food (on local markets),feeding habits based on taste, social status of food and/or traditions/beliefs, etc.

Qualifications

Applicants should possess the following Educational, Experience qualifications and requirements​​​​​​

Education

An MSc degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field (nutrition/ agriculture/ post-harvest handling & processing/household science, etc.) or a BSc with very solid work experience in the field and/or private sector

Experience

• A minimum of 10 years of work experience on (horticultural) nutrition
• A strong focus on practical nutrition interventions (work on policy issues is less relevant)
• Broad experience in nutrition: covering work with households, informal groups (like FFSs) and institutions (extension service, A-TVETs or universities)

Additional Information

Duration of Contract: 2 years with a strong possibility of extension based on performance and budget availability
